Elon Health Primary Care publishes this list and ranks our own practice first. The other practices are included based on information on their own websites as of September 2026. None of them paid to be listed, and we have no affiliation with them. Please confirm hours, insurance and new-patient status directly before booking.
Weight loss offers are everywhere in Davenport, from med spas to online apps. Medical weight care is different: a licensed clinician looks at your health history, checks labs, and follows up over time. The options below all describe medical weight care on their own websites, but they are built very differently, from a primary care visit to a surgical program.
How We Chose
- The practice is in Davenport and its own website describes weight care that involves a licensed medical provider.
- It is a medical practice or clinic, not a spa or a supplement seller.
- Its address and services could be confirmed on its own website in September 2026.
Elon Health Primary Care is listed first because it is our own practice. The others are ordered by type of care, from the most specialized program to the most retail setting. That order describes the kind of service, not its quality.
Medical weight care in Davenport
Elon Health Primary Care
Best for: Weight care that starts with a full primary care assessment
At Elon Health Primary Care, medical weight management is physician-supervised and part of your ongoing primary care, not a separate program. The work starts with an assessment of things that can affect weight, such as thyroid function, blood sugar, the medicines you take and your sleep. Our in-house laboratory handles the blood work, and Dr. Sandeep Pandya, a board-trained family medicine physician, is our Medical Director.

How to judge any weight loss program
- A licensed prescriber. Ask who writes your prescription and who you contact if you have side effects.
- Labs before and during treatment. Thyroid, blood sugar, kidney function and cholesterol all matter, and our guide to lab results explains the common ones.
- Real follow-up. The NIDDK notes that weight medicines work best with a lifestyle program, and that a clinician will usually reassess after 12 weeks on the full dose.
- FDA-approved medicine. The FDA says compounded drugs are not FDA approved and are not reviewed for safety, effectiveness or quality before they are sold. It advises getting a prescription from your doctor and filling it at a state-licensed pharmacy.
- Clear costs. Ask what is billed to insurance and what is not before you start.
The NIDDK says weight medicines may be an option for adults with a BMI of 30 or more, or 27 or more with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure or type 2 diabetes. Whether any medicine is right for you is a decision to make with a clinician who knows your full history.
Which kind of program suits you?
- You have diabetes, high blood pressure or thyroid disease: weight care inside primary care keeps it tied to those conditions. See diabetes and endocrine care.
- You are considering surgery: a bariatric program can explain both surgical and medical options.
- You mainly want flexible follow-ups: a retail or virtual option may fit, but keep your primary care doctor informed.
Food and movement matter with any approach. Our lists of low-sugar snacks and exercises for type 2 diabetes are good places to start. Call 911 for chest pain, trouble breathing or stroke signs.
