Choosing a primary care doctor after 65 is partly about the doctor and partly about your Medicare coverage. Davenport has several practices built around senior care, and many of them are organized around Medicare Advantage plans. • It has an office in Davenport, Four Corners or Poinciana, within reach of northeast Polk County.
• Its address, phone and services could be confirmed on its own website in September 2026.

Elon Health Primary Care is listed first because it is our own practice. The others are grouped by location, with Davenport offices first, then Four Corners, then Poinciana. That order is about geography, not quality.

Original Medicare or Medicare Advantage: why it matters

According to Medicare.gov, with Original Medicare you can use any doctor or hospital that takes Medicare, anywhere in the U.S., and in most cases you do not need a referral to see a specialist. With a Medicare Advantage plan, you may need to use doctors in the plan's network and may need a referral for a specialist. Advantage plans may also offer extra benefits Original Medicare does not cover, such as some vision, hearing and dental services.

Many senior-focused centers are built around specific Advantage plans. That can work well if you are in one of those plans. If you have Original Medicare, or you split the year between Florida and another state, a practice that accepts Medicare may be the simpler fit. Either way, call the office and your plan to confirm before your first visit.
